Heaven On Earth began in 1974 as a small café along a lonely stretch of highway in Oregon at exit 86. The locals gave Christine Jackson, a single mother, less than a year to survive. Now, 36 years later, she is still here, beating the odds. Heaven On Earth is famous for their family size cinnamon rolls, great country style food, and homemade apple butter spread. The apple butter has become so popular; Christine started the Oregon Apple Butter Farms Company. Customers will tell you why they keep stopping at Heaven On Earth. It’s the Generosity, warmth and atmosphere. The minute you walk in the door you feel the sense of something special and unique. The generosity of free samples is overwhelming as the sweet smells of fresh baked goods take your breath away. Hospitality and personal attention to each guest is the number one priority. And over the years, Christine has won the hearts of her customers one by one through her generous acts of kindness. She has inspired and motivated others with her positive and encouraging words. Whether you are a staff member, or a customer, Christine’s positive attitude always makes you feel great. And great is what Heaven On Earth has become. Heaven On Earth is the lighthouse of I-5. It’s been the haven of rest for the weary traveler or the out of state guest who breaks down in the middle of nowhere. It’s been there for the families on their way to a funeral needing a word of prayer or a gift of baked goods to take to their loved ones. Heaven On Earth has done so many acts of kindness; Christine has formed the Heaven On Earth Association. The Association sponsors our local veterans, donates to school fundraisers, and helps with community activities throughout Southern Oregon. Even in these tough times, Heaven On Earth still manages to always donate and give to others. “We can’t afford not to give” is the attit ude Christine has adopted to keep her business going. Heaven On Earth has not advertise in any conventional means, it’s all just been word of mouth. Everyday someone comes in and says, “I was told I had to stop here.” And everyday a new and long lasting friendship is formed. Christine has set a unique example in business to her staff. She has empowered her staff to give their guests unique acts of kindness and unexpected surprises. Whether you are handed a dollar bill when you are greeted at the door, or given some fresh homemade cookies on your way out, it’s the connection that keeps our customers connected. One simple act of kindness goes a long way. That is why Heaven On Earth is so successful. It’s a unique, genuine and true experience.
